Bloomington Handmade Market

Two Seaside Babes participated in this year's Bloomington Handmade Market. It was held at the Bloomington Convention Center, which turned out to be a super nice venue for the event. We were super worried about how this one would pan out, as it was the farthest we've had to travel for a 1-day show...2 1/2 hours! But our worries were all for was our BEST SHOW EVER!!!! was so good we needed 4 exclamation points for that one!

Our best selling item, by far, was our adult Buckle Beanie. It wasn't one particular color, but a whole slew across the rainbow...Lemongrass, Raspberry Pink, Red Wine, Olive Green, and Charcoal...among a dozen others. We sold 16 in our adult size alone! And a half dozen in our smaller sizes.

We also sold a fair number of our Silk/Bamboo Crocheted Flower Headbands. They seem to be really popular with the grown women. And it's predominantly the same colors that sell over and over again ~ Jet Black, Chocolate Brown, and all of the Blues.

Our Crocheted Flower Hair Clippies always do well, in both our duos and trios. We're hoping this next year to half at least 6 deep of every single set that we have. We get a lot of requests for 2 sets per customer.
And, as always, our children's flappers sold very well again. There were oodles and oodles of babies around Bloomington (and as a mommy who has enough children...I'm definitely staying away from the water there!) who's mommies certain wanted adorable hats! And they came running to Two Seaside Babes. As always, our best selling colors were chocolate brown, pink, and light pink for the babies. We did have a pleasantly surprising number of lime green ones sold too!

We have definite plans to do this event next year. And we understand that they will also be holding another event in the Springtime. Which is wonderful because we have TONS of brand spanking new ideas in the works for warmer weather! I guess you'll just have to wait until then to see ;-)
Until then, our next holiday show will be Lawrence Central Holiday Boutique on the 20th of November. We would love to see you there!
