Twin or Full Size Crocheted Granny Square Crazy Quilt Afghan

Two Seaside Babes has created another version of our granny square crazy quilt. This open granny square twin or full size blanket, coverlet, afghan, quilt is crocheted in our leftover Buckle Beanie natural and earthen colors. It is crocheted with 80% acrylic and 20% wool yarn for a super warm and cozy cold weather bed cover. Crocheted in 25 12" squares, there are shades of red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, pink, white, gray/grey, brown, and black. Each is trimmed in an ivory cream. It is the perfect cover-up for those chilly days or nights when a heavy blanket is simply needed. This blanket, afghan, quilt measures 60" square (shown on a twin size bed) and is machine washable (gentle cycle, lay flat to dry).

It is currently listed in our Etsy shop for $200.

Crocheted Granny Square Crazy Quilt Afghan

Two Seaside Babes has finally listed our second Crocheted Crazy Quilt Afghan. We absolutely loved the phenomenal response that we received from our first one...thousands of views and almost a hundred hearts. We've had the individual squares crocheted for quite some time, but haven't been able to whip stitch them all together. Until now.

And it's finally finished! These blankets are outstandingly labor-intensive and super time-consuming. But we adore the finished product.

This hand-crocheted, multi-colored, open granny square lap blanket/afghan, or lap-ghan is made up of 600 squares each edged in cream ivory yarn. There are dozens of different colors and types of yarn creating this wonderful "crazy quilt". This lap-ghan is 35" x 75" and is machine washable (gentle cycle, lay flat to dry). We are currently listing it for $150 and insurance is included absolutely FREE of charge.

Fishers Freedom Festival

Two Seaside Babes participated in this years Fishers Freedom Festival (June 26 - 27). We loved our setup...it was our first outdoor "booth" show of the season. We got to use our brand-new buntings, which we think gave it a really nice boutique feel. We got tons of compliments from other vendors on the look and feel of our beach-themed booth. We added our new headbands, featured on our headband stand at the left front of our booth. We were super duper excited about the prospects of the weekend.

Saturday turned out pretty darn good. Our location wasn't too great. My row of vendors seemed to be the discarded lot that had to suck up straight sun rays for the entire weekend. Every other vendor had shade. And thus, much more tolerable conditions. We had no electricity, and thus no fans. It was unbelievably hot. So hot we didn't even want to look at our own hats. We admire our brave customers that tried on our Buckle Beanies. And we silently giggle at those mothers that forced their wee babes to try on the hats in the blistering heat. What we as mothers do for the cuteness of our babes!

Our headbands did pretty well. We had oodles of compliments (and sales) with our silk/bamboo ones. And our summer hats (our visor flapper beanies) also did very well. As for our wool blend, we sold a few Buckle Beanies and even a scarflette...Oatmeal of course! We actually did far better than our one day goal.

Which was pretty darn good considering day 2 was a total waste. It was even hotter. And Sunday...so church-goers hadn't even made it out yet. And the threat of a massive storm rolling in. And bad timing with the parade. Nothing seemed to be working today. But that's okay. Overall, the show was a success. Good enough for us to consider doing it again. But definitely not great for bragging to others about. But we'll take it.

Be sure to come out to CarmelFest this Sunday and Monday (the 4th and 5th). We'll be there on the North side of Civic Square. Come on out to see us...we'll have fans this time!

We Love Customer Appreciation Photos!

Two Seaside Babes received the most uber adorable photo from Heather Stockett at HCS Photography the other day. This photo features our brand new ivory cream photography prop blanket. It's great for photographers looking for an unbelievably soft and fluffy prop, especially for those newborn shoots. But it's also great for everyday use by your own wee babe. And...it's super easy to take care of....it's machine washable and dryable! This blanket is available in many yummy colors and in the following sizes:

$20 Itty Mini Lovie/Lovey Blanket 15" x 15"
$50 Baby: 32" x 32"
$70 Toddler/Child: 32" x 50"

Two Seaside Babes Too Closing Shop

Two Seaside Babes Too will be closing our hair clip shop on Etsy. While we do exceptionally well locally at our shows, we are finding it too time-consuming to keep up with our shop on Etsy. So our inability to manage our time is now your gain.

Until our shop closes, Buy 1 item and Get 1 item FREE. FREE item must be equal to or less than the least expensive item purchased. All shipping and handling charges still apply. Simply wait for a revised invoice or pay and you'll be refunded.

Get them while they last...once they're gone. They're gone forever. That is, unless you come visit us at one of our shows!

Please NOTE: This shop closing is only affecting our hair clip shop. Our main shop, Two Seaside Babes, which is devoted to crocheted accessories and gifts, will still remain open!

Our New Blog Look

Check out our new blog look for Two Seaside Babes! While we LOVED the background on our old blog (a gorgeous lighthouse scene), it had our blog readers encountering many viewing issues. The blog was too wide and some viewers complained that the left side of the screen cut off the pictures, so we've gone to a two-column layout instead. Also, the other layout was very picture-intensive and took a great time to load. It was hard to add on pages because of this.

Now we think it's much easier to navigate. And now that it's easier for our readers to navigate, I think we'll be more inclined to post on a regular schedule now.

So keep your eyes out for new posts and pages.
